Business Valuations

As a valuation analyst, Bruce performs business valuations to assist and advise clients with succession and estate planning issues, mergers and acquisitions, sale of a company, partner/shareholder buyouts or disputes, family limited partnerships, marital dissolutions, litigation issues and employee stock plans/options. His experience and knowledge in business valuation and strategic planning are used to assist business owners in identifying value drivers and mitigating risk factors to develop strategies to convert business value into personal wealth.

Forensic Accounting & Litigation
Bruce’s experience with forensic accounting and litigation support services includes working with clients and attorneys in conducting financial investigations, fraud examination, hidden asset location, damage claims and lost profit analysis, assistance in developing interrogatories & discovery request and serving as an expert witness. In addition, Bruce’s experience in bankruptcy and insolvency consulting includes assisting with the review and documentation of preferences and other conveyances, consulting on tax issues, financial aspects of the Plans of Reorganization, accounting related to liquation claims and consulting on the issues affecting the bankruptcy estate.

Education, Professional Development and Memberships
Bruce graduated from the University of Hartford in Connecticut with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. He holds the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants specialty designation of Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) and is a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) issued by the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts.

He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and its Forensic, Litigation and Valuation and Services Division. He is also a member of the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants (CSCPA), the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA) and the Connecticut Chapter of the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts. Bruce is a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) licensed with the State of Connecticut Department of Banking. Bruce is a member of the Bristol and Farmington Chambers of Commerce.

Bruce was recently awarded with the Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) Credential by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). The CFF Credential, established in 2008 by the AICPA, is granted to qualified CPAs with considerable professional experience in financial forensics.

Bruce met the requirements to earn the CFF credential, which include demonstrating significant business experience in the area of financial forensics as well as completing a minimum of 75 hours of life-long learning and education activities in the area of financial forensics. The CFF Credential is granted exclusively to CPAs who are members in good standing of the AICPA, which binds them to the AICPA Code of Professional Conduct.

Bruce has authored and co-authored several financial curriculums in the area of litigation support and business valuation, and conducts presentations and seminars on business valuation and succession planning. He was a keynote speaker for education courses provided by the National Business Institute featuring “Preventing Critical Financial Mistakes During Divorces”, “Effectively Using Experts in Family Law” and “Simple Strategies To Keep Expert Expenses Down."
